We have decided to build a mousetrap car! For this to happen we are going to need some materials to build with.

How to Build a Mouse Trap Car
- Cut 2, 8X4 cm rectangles of wood and drill holes in each end. The holes need to be big enough that the axles can slide in easily.
- Cover the edges of all 4 CDs in duct tape to give the wheels grip.
- Set the wood frame pieces parallel to each other and use wood glue to place the mousetrap on the frame. It should be as far to the front as possible and the metal should pull toward the back wheels to be set.
- Hot Glue 2 kabob sticks, braced with popsicle sticks to make the extension. There should be 2 kabob sticks in length and 1 popsicle stick in width.
- Hot Glue the extension to the metal of the mousetrap.
- Slide the black plastic rods into the holes for axles.
- Use tape to make a secure place to hold the wheels and slide the wheels onto the axles.
- Wrap the fishing wire around the back axle and around the extension.
- When setting the mousetrap, roll the wheels backwards so that the wire will pull them forwards.
Greased Lightning V2
For the second car we decided to increase the body length. We also changed the extension to just one long wooden pole with a hook on the end. We attached the pole to the right side of the mouse trap and tied the fishing wire to the hook.
